Amazon, the multibillion dollar online superstore, has announced recently that it will be opening a part of the site entitled Amazon Student. Amazon Student, while still in it's beginning stages, has an offer that is incredibly difficult to pass up.
For those who are in possession of an email address ending in .edu, if you sign up for Amazon Student, you receive one free year of Amazon Prime. What is Amazon Prime? Prime enables you to receive free two day shipping on all products housed in the Amazon Warehouse (ergo, all products that are not sold by outside sellers). You can also opt to receive overnight shipping for $3.99 per item purchased.
Anyone who buys frequently from Amazon should be drooling over this deal. The savings on this in the first year alone would make it a profitable opportunity to purchase Amazon Prime for $79.99 per year after your initial year is up.
Another interesting feature is that you can have a "family" of four people that you invite to Prime. Each of these four invitees will receive free Amazon Prime for a month. Not a bad deal, if I say so myself.
I signed up for Amazon Student one week ago, and have already saved over $20 in shipping costs alone. Definitely worth the two minute sign-up. For those who are not in possession of a .edu email address, you can still receive a free month trial of Amazon Prime with no strings attached.
